Greetings from Satu Mare Romania, I am sorry that we could not get Skype going with Stock Creek but the internet at Mihai's church is basically non-existent. We have 2 days left here in Romania and then we travel to Budapest then home. Today and tomorrow we will have a kid's club in Taterist, revival service in Baba Novac tonight and Revival Service in Chilia tomorrow night. So as you can see we still have a busy schedule I will post as much as I can over the next few days but time is limited

Some more of the VBS kids we have had 5 people saved in our revival services, we had over 80 students in VBS one day, and have just about finished 1 cabana. The filoming and interviews of the street kids are going well and we got some great footage.
Today was cookout day at the camp for the village youth it rained but they still had a great time. There is still al lot to do before we leave I will post more tomorrow

Here are some more of the faces from Baba Novac. We had a great day yesterday 80 plus kids in VBS and 2 saved at the revival services last night. We are looking forward to tonight's service and expect more tonight also Saturday's cook out at the camp with the village kids. More photos later

Some more photos of the kids at Baba Novac. We had 67 children in VBS yesterday and we are looking for more today. We start a 3 day revival service in the village tonight and we are looking forward to that. We will also go to do a kids club in Tatarist Monday and Tuesday.

We have now left Romania and have arrived in Vienna Austria. The trip over was good, we stopped at a Hungarian buffet with Goolash but most ate chicken and french fries. After that we traveled on to Austria arrived last evening about 7:00 PM and went to an amusement park and found a McDonalds to eat at. Today we will tour Vienna with a guide and I should have some photos to post soon.

This is one of the kids at the VBS in Tatresti we have had a great time in the Lord at both VBS with 140 children and adults giving their lives to Christ. Please pray for all these that they get involved with a church and grow in decipleship and grow to be the Christians God would have them be.

The stone cabanas are coming along good we think we will get 2 cabanas in the dry I will post photos before leaving.

I went to Taterist and saw some old friends like Angelina who accepted Christ last year a totla of 100 kids and about 10 adults raised their hands to recieve Christ counting both VBS. Praise His wonderful name

Elana Rosalinda and Marius gave their life to Jesus today along with 27 other children in VBS afteerwards we went to camp site to help construction team and have a cook out. When we finished the cookout we had a lot of food left over so we took it to Elana's house

When we arrived there the mother invited us in an we were given the opportunity to lead them to Christ also . Praise His Holy name

Here are some photos of one of our planning meetings as we get ready for our 2009 mission trip to Satu Mare' Romania.

We had monthly meetings to grow together as a team and to plan for VBS and construction on the camp we are building in Baba Novac .

We will leave Friday morning at 12:00 and when we arrive in Romania and get settled we will post more photos.

Chilli Cook Off and Silent Auction

Hey everyone , we are starting now to plan our Oldies but Goodies Valentine Chili Cook off and silent Auction. The date will probabaly be Friday February 13 but are still in the planning stage, we need items and/or services to auction off so pray and ask God to lead you in how you should participate in this. We are trying to get Barney Fife to come this year as our entertainment and there will be plenty more surprises

From The Roof Of the Aurora Hotel

This is a familar view to anyone who has been on a trip to Satu Mare Romania with Light Your World Ministry it is from the roof of the Aurora Hotel in which we used to stay. Our new home while in Satu Mare is the Hotel Dana II about a block away from the Aurora. The Dana II is a bit more modern with air conditioning in the rooms we enjoyed our stay there last July and are looking forward to our return trip.

We had our first meeting to discuss next year's trip, not a lot of people showed up but several have called or emailed and let me know they are interested in going this summer. Benji Fowler the youth minister of Stock Creek Baptist Church announced Wednesday evening that he was going and taking several of the youth with him, we are very excited to see some of our youth going to help share Christ with the young people of Romania.

Our next meeying will be October 14 at 7:00 PM in the youth room of Stock Creek Baptist. We will mainly be discussing the main trip that we will be taking on July 17 through July 29 2009. We have the date but no definite prices yet. I have ask several people to submit prices so that we can pick the best travel arrangements for the most competitve price. I know that th cost will be between $2,300 and $2,600 USD but will try and narrow that down before the next meeting.

Please come, if at all possible, if you are interested in sharing God's light with people who live in darkness. I understand that there are people who live out of town and can not come please email me or phone me to let me know your intentions.

The trip is over and God accomplished a lot through us but there is still a lot more to do. There are still children in Romania who have no hope there are approximately 1000 street kids in Satu Mare alone . Would you partner with Light Your World to bring the hope of God's Light to them. You may partner in 3 ways Pray, Go , and give. We need all the prayer support we can get, we need all the workers that will listen to God's call and we need financial support to but supplies and materials for the camp. One cabana cost approximately $4500 in wood an $10000 when we have to go to stone. We are a non profit 5013c corporation and all donations are tax deductible. You may give a one time amount or pledge to be a monthly contributor, just pray and see how God wants to use you.

Here we are as we share our thoughts about the past 11 days and how God had worked in and through us. Half size team and He built 2 cabanas and used us in two separate VBSs in two different villages.

This team show true unity the sort that I think Jesus prayed for in John as He ask the Father to make us one so that the worl,d will know He sent them. There was no back biting very little complaigning a lot of praising God and much much work.

Here is the fianal shot of the camp as we left Monday. We have 3 cabana finished and the entire look of the camp is changing. People in the village are looking forward to the camp getting opened. Please be in prayer for this project.

Sunday was a special day as Hanah Griffin who had accepted Christ about 3 weeks earlier on a youth trip with Stock Creek Baptist Church, was baptized at Betel Baptist Church in Satu Mare Romania

Today was a great day! God gave us 52 children in VBS and we had about 7 raise their hands to recieve Christ as their Lord and Savior.

We also had great weather and was able to get the 2nd cabana in the dry and roof on number 3

These photos ahow all cabins in various stages of completion we have the one we finished last year, we have one that is sheeted with siding and roof on and we have one that us framed and have all the trusses on the roof as of this afternoon. God has worked miracles in what we have been able to accomplish. We have a smaller crew, missing tools, bad weathed and Hornets but God has still allowed us to finish almost 2 more cabanas.

We had VBS in a new village today Tataresti and we packed the house. We were told we would only have about 20 to 25 kids but God blessed us with 49 children. I will post up date on the camp next

A lot of folks say my hand does not fit a hammer or any other tool I just want you to see me with hammer in hand concentration on my face and Ronnie Griffin watching to make sure I don't do anything wrong. We have 1 cabana framed and trusses built we should put roof on tomorrow our goal is to finish 2 more cabanas

Tuesday July 15 We stood still and watched God work

Well today started out raining My son in law Bill Powers and I went to rent a car so we could have some flexibility in gathering materials.Driving on Romanian roads is an experience. The VBS was great today but fewer children showed because of the weather. It rained hard this morning and I just knew that we were not going to gewt much done on the job site but God thought better. Even with a slow start with rain and not getting tools until later, not to mention the brother who helps us take materials back and forth had a flat tire and fell of his wagon; God helped us get one cabana framed and ready to finish hopefully tomorrow. What a wonderful God we serve. We have more VBS and constructio tomorrow and also more church services to conduct. Pray for the men who will be praching, Tony Mell and Jim Tucker have both preached and have done a great job. Pray for us that we let God use us in a big way or actually in any way He chooses.

Well I am having technical difficulties in uploading photos I have taken I hope to have this corrected in the near future. But for now just let me say the trip is going well we had a great first day VBS with about 60 to 65 children, the construction did not go as well all of our tools seem to have been misplaced but we are working today to try and correct the situation . Please pray for us that we let God guide us.

This is a finished cabana and the 2007 team who made it all possible. What a year we had last year, I thought it would be hard to beat but I believe God has even more in store for us this year even though we are a smaller group. God took Gideon's army down to 300 so that everyone knew it was God who brought the victory.

We have to do things the old fasion way including busting big rocks into small rock we also had to move materials by horse and buggy. This was part of preparing the concrete pads we had to lay, this took the biggest part of our time and effort last year but had to be done.

This is Jerry Schroeder "Gunnie" as we start to put the roof on our first cabana in the camp. We have plans to build 10 cabanas (5 wood and 5 stone) plus a stone 2 story multi-purpose building.

This is a group photo of the 2007 team from Stock Creek Baptist Church, we would travel from Knoxville to Atlanta where we woul meet with the rest of the 2007 " Light Your World" Mission Team.

From Atlanta we flew to JFK in New York then to Paris and finally Budaqpest Hungary. After a 6 hour bus ride we arrived at Satu Mare Romania ready to start our work.

I will post a few other photos of this trip before I start on this year's trip
